The Birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah around the year 570 CE into the noble tribe of Quraysh. His father, Abdullah, had passed away before his birth, and his mother, Aminah, named him Muhammad.
As was the custom of noble Makkan families, he was entrusted to a wet nurse in the desert, Halimah as-Sa’diyah, where he spent his early years. His mother passed away when he was six, and his grandfather Abdul-Muttalib cared for him until his death two years later. He was then raised by his uncle Abu Talib, who protected and supported him for decades.
