Surah 101

The Calamity

سُورَةُ القَارِعَةِ

    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Transliteration: Al qaari'ah

    The Striking Calamity -

  2. 2

    مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Transliteration: Mal qaariah

    What is the Striking Calamity?

  3. 3

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Transliteration: Wa maa adraaka mal qaari'ah

    And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

  4. 4

    يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ

    Transliteration: Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth

    It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

  5. 5

    وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ

    Transliteration: Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh

    And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

    فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

    Transliteration: Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh

    Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

  7. 7

    فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ

    Transliteration: Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah

    He will be in a pleasant life.

  8. 8

    وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

    Transliteration: Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh

    But as for one whose scales are light,

  9. 9

    فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ

    Transliteration: Fa-ummuhu haawiyah

    His refuge will be an abyss.

  10. 10

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ

    Transliteration: Wa maa adraaka maa hiyah

    And what can make you know what that is?

  11. 11

    نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ

    Transliteration: Naarun hamiyah

    It is a Fire, intensely hot.
